The ocean is easily accessible through the Manatee Bar River, which is about 1 ¼ mile away, this river is also very well known for its' excellent fishing. The Southern & Western Lagoons have the largest breeding colony of Caribbean Manatees in the entire Caribbean, an amazing sight, there are also many rivers in the area, which are great for river float trips, bird-watching, nature tours, etc. Bird Caye Sanctuary is located just north of the property in Northern Lagoon, this island is a breeding spot for many different types of exotic birds and is always a great tour!

Gales Point Village is about 2+ miles south, in Southern Lagoon, this small local village is situated on a long Peninsula jutting out into the lagoon. Gales Point is a village rich in culture, it is very well known for the construction of wooden canoes and sailboats, they also have a local drumming school and make the drums themselves. There are three exciting major sailing regattas held each year in the Southern Lagoon, centered around this village.

The property is located approximately 25 miles from Belize City via the inland waterways, you can go all the way from the International Airport to the property by water, without having to go out to sea, it is a very nice trip, with wonderful scenery and birding. You can also reach the property by ocean through the Manatee Bar River.
