This 100+ Acre property, "Tamandua", (named after
the local Ant Eater) is nestled into the 4,000 acre Five Blues
Lake National Park, with the park bounding the property on
three sides and the road bounding the property on the south
side. Tamandua is located 3 miles off of mile 32 on the Hummingbird
Highway, just 28 miles from the capital city of Belize, Belmopan

There is an incredible abundance of flora and fauna on this
property with 240 recorded species of birds, and a lot of
wildlife including Black Howler Monkeys who are frequent visitors.
Approximately 43+- Acres of the property have at one point
been sustainably developed as an organic tropical fruit farm
and was also operating as an Eco-lodge up until three years
ago.

The infrastructure includes one brand new 20'X20' building
on stilts with a 12' balcony on two sides, this is the main
residence and is constructed with treated pine lumber and
zinc roofing, with a tiled floor inside, there is a concrete
slab under the building which is used for the storage of the
equipment such as the tractor, etc. There is also the original
main building, which is not in very good shape, but it does
have some wonderful timbers, which are in great condition
and would definitely be useable for constructing another building,
or for reviving this building. There is a 6,000 gallon water
reservoir under the floor of this building and a wine cellar/storage
area beside the water reservoir, near the creek. There are
numerous rock pools set into the creek for bathing as well
as two bridges, one for walking and one for driving over the
creek. There is also a shed area for additional storage space.

This unique property features two fresh, drinking water quality
springs, which originate on the property, with a gathering
pool at the base to store up water for drinking, etc. These
springs provide water to the property year round and feed
the picturesque creek, which meanders through the main valley,
around the central area and under the bridges.
There are two separate valleys on the property, one, the
main valley holds the buildings, springs and the many fruit
trees, including 220 mango trees (3-4 types), hundreds of
pineapple plants, orange, limes, allspice, grapefruit, sour
orange, coconuts, papaya, bananas, plantains, custard apples,
4 plums, 3 cashews, durian, mamay apple, 20 cherry bushes,
2 breadfruit, 18 starfruit trees, 6 guava trees, many avocado
trees, 1 decorative lime tree, and many more un-identified
trees.

There are also numerous decorative and utilitarian plants,
including; torch ginger, variegated ginger, red ginger, pink
ginger, shell ginger, various heliconias, various crotons,
many orchids, bamboo, various decorative palms, teak tree,
spiral ginger, various hibiscus, various bougainvillea, tulip
trees, screw pines, clematis, 20 +- neem trees, many mahogany
trees, split leaf, regular and variegated philodendrons, ceibas,
along with many other plants and trees, both wild and cultivated.

The second valley is located on the west of the property
and is reached by a steep trail, this valley is absolutely
beautiful with steep limestone and kaarst cliffs on the east
side and steep slopes on the west and south sides, this valley
is filled with red and yellow heliconias and has trails leading
around the valley, an ideal location for that absolutely private
jungle hideaway!
The property has steep limestone and kaarst mountains jutting
out of the earth, encompassing the main and second valley.
Lookout mountain juts out on the eastern portion of the property,
over the main valley and new house. This hill is climbable
and gives an incredible birds-eye view of the property and
surrounding area. There is a 60+- foot deep walkable cave
fit into the side of the limestone hill to the north of the
main valley. There are also numerous additional caves in the
area to explore as well as the Five Blues Lake National Park.
